Emergency rescue helicopter

Frans L. P. A. Rutten, M.D. (left picture, foreground), who set up the Dutch Emergency Helicopter Rescue Services through Medical Air Assistance B.V., is shown at its headquarters in Rotterdam with a fellow emergency physician. Dr. Rutten utilizes the Oxylator® EM-100, a unique patient responsive Resuscitation Management System, not only as a teaching tool, but also as his device of choice for emergency ventilation.

To demonstrate in his courses the advantages of the EM-100 compared to bag valve devices, Dr. Rutten has Laerdal Manikins and Ambu bag-valve devices at his disposal. Results are verified and validated with a Ventcheck™, a hand-held monitor made by Novametrix Medical Systems Inc..
